Baba Yaga

Saturday, November 30, 2013
Baba Yaga's house! My absolute favorite to date. Done on the same lady with the California Condor.

Hustin's Pisces

Still in progress, a Pisces chest piece cover-up of the words "Love is my weapon." Only about half-way done!

Falcon and Rat

Additions to Colin! (He has the jackalope chest piece). He asked me to do whatever I wanted, and this Falcon is what I came up with!

Mermaid

Horrible photo. A still unfinished piece on Mari, she is definitely a woman of the water! Can't wait to finish this piece.

California Condor

Another favorite of mine. This is a cover-up of a little swan and the word "love." The bird is a California Condor, the owner's spirit animal. He came to her in a dream. She was him. Maia is an amazing lady.

Poppies and PMA

Still unfinished piece. But a great story behind the banner and words-
The "PMA" (Positive Mental Attitude. Something very fitting to its owner!) is something I drew on my friend Ariel's arm for our friend Griffin to tattoo on her in her living room a few years ago. Then as my very very very first tattoo, even before that antler I posted earlier, I did that little banner and touched up the wobbly "PMA." Then, to our shock and grief, Griffin passed away this summer. Ariel had been talking about getting poppy tattoos before, but now they had a different meaning. Poppies are the flower of death, and now remembrance. I can't wait to finish this lovely transformative and important tattoo.

Indian Corn

One of my favorites. A tribute to her father, Indiana, her love for corn and all things fall, and the movie "Children of the Corn."

Jackalope

This was my first chest piece, ever! Still fairly early in my career. Tribute to South Dakota. He gave me a taxidermy jackalope head wall-mount as a tip for this tattoo! So badass.

Wolf & Horses

Adrienne is a great friend of mine who recently moved to California. We started and finished this whole piece in an absurdly short amount of time to get it done before she left. Really meaningful and fun piece to do.

Gunny

A tribute to Margo's Grandmother!

Lotus

Robbin is one of my older clients, and sat like a champ. She even came back two weeks later to add that butterfly! Represents her balance and love for yoga, as well as her family.

Skeleton Key

The first full color tattoo I did! The first image is before touch-ups, the second was after.

Antler

My first ever tattoo! September 2012. On my trusting best friend, a tribute for a day she had in the woods with her mother.

Silverstein Silverware

Done on my friend Cat Stephens (yes, her real name). I didn't do the "gee" and "haw," but the Shel Silverstein pieces were done as one of my first tattoos. About a year later we added the knife and fork so she can eat her way into the afterlife!

Anchors

Anchors are a right of passage as a tattoo artist, I suppose. These were done on a couple, and in my very early days of tattooing.

Thigh Lines and Forearms

Really love that placement on the back of the thighs.
That first tattoo was a commemorative one done on my friend Cassidy, for our trip to Colorado in Spring Break of 2013. It reminded us of mountains, and we watched the Joy Division movie while out there. Very suiting and fun tattoo.
The little coffin-looking line pieces are Viva's version of haitian loas.
The bottom piece is a little geometric coverup of Rayna's stick & poke "prog" which was supposed to say "progress," I believe. I giggled at that one. The geometric piece is based off of simple geometry and stained glass windows.
